The size of our operation means most of your donations go directly to our work in Uganda

Project World is a Christian organisation founded by an Australian couple, Paul and Rita Ferla in 2005. It was born to help the needy, including families, children and widows. In everything we do we are honest and transparent, and we are constantly learning, planning and building.

Today, Project World comprises volunteers who are hands-on and situated on the ground in Uganda. Project World partners with locals, community experts, trained teachers, builders, engineers and many others who share a vision to build change.

Paul and Rita Ferla

Through Project World, Paul and Rita are helping people break free of oppression, injustice and abuse. They want to lift the vulnerable people of Uganda up, both emotionally and spiritually, to create a better life. Project World works with local pastors and churches to bring the light of hope into their world.

Global Development Group

Project World operates in partnership with Global Development Group (GDG). GDG oversees our initiatives to ensure that the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs Trading (DFAT) requirements are met in relation to the planning, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring of our projects.

Teachers and staff

Project World combines global thinking with local knowledge. We are not about imposing foreign ideas of education or culture in Uganda. The teachers in the school we are building are locals who know the people of Budaka and who are able to provide a local education.

The people of Project World have a proven track record helping to develop self-sustaining communities in Uganda. The processes behind their successful work in Busia are now being used to help the community of Budaka thrive

Working with Grace Mission to Nation in Busia, Project World director Paul Ferla and Rita Ferla helped to construct the Grace Mission Orphanage Primary School which is currently educating over 200 students in primary level and employs over 10 teaching and non-teaching staff.

Paul and Rita worked tirelessly with the support of sponsors and well-wishers to raise money to fund the construction of the school and several water wells to supply clean water to the school and community at large. A dairy and poultry project was established to raise income through the production and distribution of milk and eggs. These funds go towards the ongoing costs of running the school.

Furthermore Paul, Rita and others sponsored orphans and underprivileged children in Busia with donations going towards school fees, uniforms and shoes, school supplies and meals for the students and staff.

This school continues to be a cornerstone of the Busia community providing a brighter future for the children of Busia. Parents, guardians and all stake holders will always be grateful for such a huge achievement in creating a positive impact around the world. Paul's efforts helped to empower the community and bring about a positive long term change to the residents of Busia.
